Ok, I know this blog is for LULZ and what not, but this kind of pisses me off. I've got a few things to say about McCain's running mate, Palin. First off I think McCain has shot himself in the foot; yes he chose a woman- and that is fantastic- but where the hell is her experience??
She is a first term gov., ok Obamas only been in the Senate a few years, but a mid-term gov., with like 2 years experience?
Ok so maybe I am jumping the gun here. Let's look at her stance on things:"Palin's anti-abortion and pro-gun record have excited conservatives and party activists"
....... 2 Problems
1. Guns, they are totally unnecessary in this day and age, yes it is in the Constitution but that was written over 200 years ago, the world was a different place. You actually needed guns to hunt for food. But now, in 2008, WTF lets lessen the gun a bit, how many kids have died b/c of guns? Ughh it just pisses me off that in a world where were are supposedly the most intelligent we have ever been (which is doubtful to me most days)) we still have archaic laws for guns. FAIL.
2. She is ANTI-ABORTION??!! How can she, as a woman, not allow for a woman's right to choose?? Yes, abortion is horrible- i think everyone admits that, but for some it is an option. Like a 13 year old girl who gets raped and pregnant- should she have to carry a child b/c she was raped. No. Also Palin is against birth-control-- in any form.
yea thats right she is against contraception, in 2008. Hello resurgence of AIDS
Now i am not going to attack her in regards to her family and her daughter; thats none of our business, although i do feel bad for the girl. But I just look at her stances, so far, and it scares me. This is not what the US needs; we need to change how the world sees us ( aka Puritanical hypocrites) and I dont think this woman would help that. yes, she is a woman and that is wonderful that women are in politics, but honestly when she comes packaged with, just no.
Um, so this rant went on longer then i intended, and i hope i didn't offend anyone with my rants, but clearly i am not supporting McCain (shocker i know). But i was reading all these articles online and i just got pissed, but we'll see what she says tonight at the RNC.
Also to make up for this rubbish, i will post a fun Vlog later :)
Love ya!

Praino! I am so pleased to see you so involved in something so serious! You not only posted your ideas but you also defended your reasons behind WHY you think she's a bad choice of running mate. I've never been so proud in my entire life!
Secondly here, I agree with the two points you made. The Constitution may say we have the "right to bear arms" but it was written over 200 years ago and therefore should be taken in a different context than it was originally written.
Anti-abortion is one stance that is never going to get anywhere. I honestly don't know anyone actually pushes that as a campaign issue/stance anymore. It's a waste of time to argue that anymore. People should be able to make a decision on their own without legislative opinion; if you're anti-abortion, DON'T GET ONE! If you're pro-choice, GET ONE (if necessary). Leave everyone else alone.
As for the whole "no birth control" thing, that's ridiculous. I was unaware that the Catholics just took over and we now can only have sex to procreate and nothing more. This is, of course, in addition to the fact that contraceptives have drastically reduced the amount of STDs transmitted GLOBALLY!!!! There's a reason we have them; use them.
Thank you Praino for this lovely blog. I am so proud of you for giving us your political insight!
Praino, I'm so proud of you! Plus, I couldn't agree more.
Like Fountain said - the Constitution says that we have a "right to bear arms"...which when it was written 200 years ago, meant militias and such. Last time I checked, we didn't have militias anymore, so perhaps it's time we re-evaluate things.
And please, don't get me started on the positions of anti-abortion and abstinence only education, etc. How anyone can find and/or defend "logic" for these ideas is beyond me.
And yes, while I do think that it's fantastic that there's going to be a woman on the most important ballot in the country, I think that having Palin be it is about as close as you can be to a big, hypocritical contradiction. She may talk about shattering the glass ceiling, but since she's apparently just going to use the shards to help build a lower one, then she should just go away.
I am glad I have made you girls proud :) and even gladder that you guys agree (and i didn't offend anyone lol).
But seriously, the Constitution was written during a time of war- of course it would say "bear arms." I totally agree with what you both said.
Ughh I can't stand alot of the Republican stances. And those insane evangelical-creationists (they really scare me) . I am watching the RNC right now Rudy is talking and I watch to bitch-slap him.
Also Tully, what you said: "I think that having Palin be it is about as close as you can be to a big, hypocritical contradiction. She may talk about shattering the glass ceiling, but since she's apparently just going to use the shards to help build a lower one, then she should just go away."
SO, SO SO SO SO TRUE.
You know what, she may as well take those glass shards and may as well use them to symbolically kill the feminist movement--- dening rights for women, and contraception. Ugh.
Well, I am going to go finish watching this shit-show, i m sure i ll be back later and enraged that 1/2 of the country are fucking retards.
